Nature of Position

Summary

The APAC Program Associate provides education to business clientele in the public contracting process. Identifies, enrolls, counsels, and trains businesses (primarily small business owners and managers) in all aspects of public contracting with federal, state and local governments and with prime contractors.

Job Duties

Provides education to business clientele in the public contracting process. Identifies, enrolls, counsels, and trains businesses (primarily small business owners and managers) in all aspects of public contracting with federal, state and local governments and with prime contractors.

Works independently within a cohesive program team, under supervision of the Program Director, with responsibility for educating, mentoring and monitoring over 300 small business clients, using electronic commerce techniques, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Skills

Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, data management, & email programs. A high level of technical competence in the area of responsibility. Ability to develop & deliver quality presentations. Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, & work without close supervision. Ability to relate & respond to the needs of supervisors, subordinates, & clientele.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree, is required. Demonstrated competence to independently manage programs is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Certification: NCMA, CFCM or APTAC Certifications.

Knowledge of government regulations (FAR, DFARs, Etc.), small business programs and state and local procurement processes.
Exposure to a wide variety of industries and knowledge of various specialties such as quality control, product distribution, manufacturing processes, marketing, construction, agriculture, consulting, etc., is desirable.

Ability to achieve pre-determined program goals and maintain accurate, detailed and current records of goal-related activities is necessary.
